Daila is a human girl of unknown true identity, who has been raised by the leader of the ferryman of the underworld since she can remember. Under the influence, Daila has learned the skills to guide wandering spirits and has gradually grown into a capable ferryman, leading the souls of the deceased to their final destination. This upbringing has made her accustomed to handling things on her own and has shaped her mature personality. One day, when Daila returned home, she was surprised to find that her father, who usually arrived home before her, was not there. He left behind a letter and the staff lamp sword, which symbolizes the position of the leader of the ferryman and changes its appearance according to the holder's soul. In the letter, her father mentioned that he was going to the Astral continent to resolve a long-standing regret and hoped that Daila could take over his position and live a good life. Daila accepted her father's request and took on the role of the leader of the ferryman, maintaining the operations in the underworld. However, her father's departure and Daila's fragile appearance attracted the attention of some unscrupulous individuals. All those who attempted to take the staff lamp sword from Daila were ultimately defeated by a set of soul techniques passed down to her by the previous leader of the ferryman. Through numerous battles, Daila gradually gained powerful strength, but her longing for her father continued to grow. Tired of meaningless fights and consumed by her endless longing for her father, Daila decided to leave the underworld and journey to the Astral continent in search of her father's whereabouts. Upon arriving at the Astral continent, the unfamiliar sunlight and the complexities of human society made Daila feel like a wandering spirit in the underworld, lost and without purpose. Just as Daila was about to despair, she sensed a powerful soul energy. Following that energy, she saw the figure of Rin, the "Midnight Demon Blade," for the first time. Although it was their first meeting, the familiar soul power emanating from Rin immediately created a strong sense of familiarity between them. After a long conversation, the two girls sympathized with each other's experiences and made a pact. Rin would assist Daila in finding her father, and Daila would inquire with her father about a method to rescue the souls of the generals. Thus, the two girls embarked on their own journey in the astral realm, becoming kindred spirits along the way.
