Mei grew up in her family-owned bakery and has always loved making desserts since she was young. She always believed that her desserts were the most delicious. However, in reality, everyone else thought her desserts were not tasty at all. Whenever people saw Mei with her desserts, they would avoid her, except for her sister Asuna, who would praise her desserts. This gave Mei a lot of confidence. Day after day, Mei continued to make desserts, but her family never appreciated her creations. Her sister, who used to taste her treats, also left home for school, causing Mei's confidence in her dessert-making skills to gradually crumble. Until one day, Mei went to the forest to gather ingredients for her desserts. While taking a break, a pure white creature suddenly pounced on her and ate the strawberry dessert she had in her hand. Then, the creature's body started to change. It grew slightly bigger and sprouted wings. Mei was initially scared, but when she saw that the creature enjoyed eating her desserts and seemed to savor them, she felt extremely happy and regained her confidence in making desserts. Since then, Mei would bring her homemade treats for the creature to enjoy and named it "Fortify." Fortify also grew bigger and bigger. In fact, the desserts Mei made contained magic. Only creatures with magic could taste the deliciousness and gain enhanced abilities. That's why Fortify was attracted to Mei's desserts and underwent physical changes.
